When sunlight hits a solar panel, it generates direct current (DC) electricity. A solar inverter converts this into alternating current (AC), which is used to power homes, businesses and communities. Surplus electricity flows back into the public grid for grid-tied systems; for off-grid systems it is stored in a battery bank instead.

Yes. An off-grid system isn't connected to the public grid at all and covers your entire electricity needs using solar panels and battery storage alone. This is especially useful for remote properties in Paraguay without a nearby ANDE connection, though it's usually more expensive due to the battery capacity required.

We use modern lithium battery storage, typically rated for around 10 to 15 years, or several thousand charge cycles, before storage capacity noticeably declines. We size the capacity individually based on your consumption and goals — whether that's covering nights, cloudy days, or full independence from the grid.
